Beyonce’s Thoughtful and Quaint Gift to Hubby Jay-Z

As much as Lexus likes to think otherwise, most of us will never, ever, walk into the driveway and see a new car with a giant bow on it for Christmas. Or our birthday.

In fact, the majority of us will be lucky to unwrap a top-of-the-line car-wash kit on our special day.

But we all know how very different life is for the rich and famous. When you’re the highest earning couple in the entertainment biz, birthday gifts tend to border on the extravagant. A Lexus in the driveway? Hogwash. Might as well give a Matchbox.

...a Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport!

Rapper Jay-Z’s lovely wife, Beyonce Knowles, may be up for the wife of the year award with this thoughtful gift. For his 41st birthday, Jay-Z was surprised with a $2 million Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport.

Jay-Z, who celebrated his birthday on December 4, is said to have been properly thrilled with the present, even though he already has an impressive and extensive car collection including a Maybach 62S, a Ferrari F430 Spider and a Pagani Zonda Roadster.

Considering money isn’t a concern for the famous singing couple, reportedly having more of it than fellow power couples Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie and Will and Jada Pinkett-Smith, I have to wonder why Beyonce didn’t get her beloved the faster, even more exclusive fastest car in the world: the Veyron Super Sport. I guess she doesn’t love him enough.

The truth is, Beyonce had to order the car a full year in advance to make sure it would be delivered in time for the big day. Had the Super Sport been available, I’m sure she would have forked over the extra half-million or so.

Then again, there’s always Jay-Z’s 42nd birthday…

What car would you want for your birthday? A simple 1997 Jaguar XK would do for me. (Are you reading this, honey?)

And I’ll get a sweater for Christmas. Perhaps I should take singing/performing lessons.
