You Can’t Have a Lamborghini Veneno, But Maybe One of These Instead…
Search all you want, but you’re not going to find a Lamborghini Veneno in the CarGurus used listings.
In most cases, those listings are a prime place to look for your next sedan, SUV, minivan or sports car. Heck, even used supercars make an appearance for those of you with the money and time to enjoy one. The Veneno, though, is one car not likely to ever show up in the listings. That’s because only three will be made, and each already has its new owner waiting to write the check.
Keep reading to drool all over the Veneno, then view some suggestions on what you might consider purchasing instead.
Imagine all the fun you could have with a $4 million budget for cars. You could easily fill your garage with more than one Aston Martin, a Ferrari or two—heck, even a Bugatti if you wanted to splurge. For three lucky humans somewhere on this planet, that $4 million will buy one car: the new Lamborghini Veneno.
It’s not really fair to compare the Veneno to other cars, because quite simply, there is no other car like it. The Veyron might cost half as much and offer a lot more horsepower, but it carries about a thousand more pounds and looks sick and bloated next to the wickedly svelte Veneno. The 3,190-pound Raging Bull packs a 6.5-liter V12 producing 750 horsepower and gets to 60 miles per hour in just 2.8 seconds on its way to a top speed of 220 miles per hour. The Veneno is evil incarnate.
Obviously, nothing even remotely affordable can come close to the experience the Veneno will provide. However, as of this writing, CarGurus has 67 Gallardos listed nationwide, a few for under $100,000. If that’s still too rich, try searching for a used Lotus Elise. You might need to travel to find one, but these light, great-handling beautiful machines are well worth the $30-$50K you’d drop on a used one.
Plus, its almost guaranteed that a sexy Elise will turn heads almost as quickly as a chiseled Lamborghini.
Since you can’t buy a new Veneno, which used supercar would you choose to own?
