Regardless of which side of the aisle you stand on, the 2016 presidential election has brought new meaning to “political theater.” Every election features its fair share of attack ads, smear campaigns, and slander, but with two unprecedentedly polarizing candidates, it’s no stretch to assume people are watching debates, social media at their fingertips, just to hear what the “other guy” will say.

Top Gear made the Toyota Hilux legendary by trying to destroy it. It drove out of an ocean, survived a collapsing building and traversed to the North Pole. The truck simply can’t be stopped.

The Hilux is a perfect example of a tough truck that Americans don’t get to enjoy. Instead, we get the Tacoma and Tundra. Which are fine, but really, what would happen if a new Tacoma got submerged in an incoming ocean tide? I shudder to think.

As great as the Hilux may be, is it still the toughest little truck in all the world? After all, it hasn’t been significantly updated since 2005, and at least three other trucks have matured into worthy competitors.

But can anyone really beat the Toyota?

Cars We’ll Miss, and Some We Won’t, in 2012

New years always promise to bring big changes. The year 2012 will be no different, with some changes sure to be good and some…not so much. One thing for sure, 2012 will arrive very soon, but some cars won’t live to see the end of it.

The Detroit Free Press put together a list of cars that will fade away during the course of the next year. Some of the cars will be sorely missed, while others should have crossed over to the great junkyard in the sky years ago.
