Jay Leno, or “Perma-Denim Jay” as I like to call him, is one lucky man. He only needs one outfit, and he has a garage full of some of the most sought-after cars in the world. What a life!
He even gets to drive supercars he doesn’t own on segments of his show. I’m not talkin’ The Tonight Show here, I’m talkin’ the infinitely more entertaining Jay Leno’s Garage.
In the clip below Jay speaks with Christian von Koenigsegg, the 37-year old founder of Koenigsegg Automotive, about the hand-built Trevita CCXR. This supercar weighs half as much as the Bugatti Veyron and has just slightly more horsepower (1,018, to be exact).
Only three CCXRs were built, and two are sold, including the one in the video. It’s a priceless moment to see Jay idling outside a Jack in the Box while sitting in someone else’s Koenigsegg.

Jay Leno and the Koenigsegg Trevita CCXR:
Most of us will never know what it’s like to drive the most potent road-going Ferrari ever. That’s why videos like this one are so valuable. In this footage, we go for a spin in the 599 GTO at the Mugello circuit. Gleaming red paint and the roar of the engine combine with the curves of the track to create a heart-pumping two minutes of fun! Check it out:
For this next video, I quote the great TopGear:
Crashes happen in motorsport. Sometimes they are small, sometimes they are big. And sometimes they are very much flying. Portuguese Angolan driver Ricardo Teixeira had such an incident at the second race of the Formula 2 season in Marrakech on Sunday. Attempting a pass on Ivan Samarin who slowed as he saw his adversary, Teixeira promptly slammed into the back of Samarin’s gearbox. And then went flying. “At first I was angry at him…and then I realised I was up in the air,” Teixeira reported. He went skyward, vaulted four cars and barrel-rolled to a finish, emerging – quite miraculously – uninjured.
