Looking for a good Labor Day deal on a new car? The holiday’s late date this year works in your favor. Combined with strong inventory and new model introductions, there are deals to be found out there.
Deals are especially easy to find if you’re looking in the right segments. Experts say deals are available on subcompacts, compacts, and midsize sedans these days. Yet you can still find deals in the pickup truck segment as well. Sure, the new Ford F-150 is attracting lots of attention, but there’s such a mix of configurations available that you can find deals on specific trims.
Here’s a look at five brands with special offerings.
The Volkswagen Jetta TDI is being offered with 0% financing for 72 months plus a $500 Volkswagen Credit Labor Day bonus. The standard gas Jetta is being offered with the 0% financing for 60 months plus $1,500 in available bonuses when you finance through VW Credit. That includes the $500 Labor Day bonus and an additional $1,000 bonus for buying a gas Jetta by Sept. 7, 2015. VW is also offering a $1,000 prepaid Visa card and 0% financing for 72 months on the Tiguan, its compact crossover.
Ford has put $1,000 Labor Day cash on the table for most of its 2015 lineup. It is also offering 0% financing for 72 months. The vehicles excluded include the Transit, Transit Connect, F-150, Raptor, E-Series vans, Super Duty, and certain specialty Mustangs.
Don’t despair, though, if you have your heart set on a Ford F-150. There is a deal available on the F-150 XLT with SuperCab or SuperCrew with the 2.7-liter V6 EcoBoost with luxury chrome or the Sport package. You can choose between 0% financing for 72 months or up to $7,050 in savings. The savings come from a combination of various deals that can be best explained at the dealership.
Speaking of pickups, Ram is offering 0% financing for 72 months on its 1500 line of trucks. The only cash-back offers are for recent college grads, who receive $500 off the Ram 1500.
Toyota is coming off an August in which sales were down 8.8% year over year. A particularly good offer is 0% financing for 60 months and $500 cash back for the 2015 Toyota Camry. The popular RAV4 crossover also offers 0% financing for 60 months as well as the Prius models.
It’s an especially good time to be shopping for a Prius. Low fuel prices have helped drop demand for the hybrid. Plus, the brand-new 2016 model is being introduced this Tuesday, Sept. 8, in Las Vegas. Dealers will be pushed to clear inventory.
Nissan is offering up to $2,775 total savings off MSRP for the 2015 Nissan Altima. That includes $1,000 Nissan cash back, $1,025 in package savings, and $750 cash from Nissan’s credit company.
