The current Genesis Coupe (terrible name, considering it’s nothing like the Genesis sedan) has been well reviewed and is even considered, in some circles, a keen competitor to the Ford Mustang. From the looks of things, the next version will sport a more menacing look and, probably, better performance.
We get this little foreshadow of things to come courtesy of the Hyundai Blog. While most of the words on that site might be in Korean, lucky for us pictures cross all language barriers.
From the looks of things, the Hyundai performance coupe will feature a front grille that borrows elements from the Hyundai Veloster. The Genesis Coupe’s front headlights have a little Audi attitude going on, and the LED fog lights add a real touch of elegance. The rear end gets similar treatments, which should look very good to other drivers once the new supercharged V6 engine kicks into full throttle. At least we’re hoping for some supercharged action to go with those killer good looks!
In other leaked news, the sharp eyes at Jalopnik caught the brief and unintended debut of Cadillac’s new flagship, the XTS. This is the monster sedan that will replace the DTS and STS and looks, at least to my eye, to share some proportions with the mighty Mercedes-Benz S-Class. Set to debut at the upcoming LA Auto Show, the XTS appeared for a while on Cadillac’s website before being removed.
While I’m sure in person this behemoth will strike awe and desire in the hearts of those who encounter it, in this picture I can’t help but also see some Hyundai Sonata. As great as the XTS is bound to be, depending on the price point it lands at, I’m thinking the CTS-V (sedan or wagon) might be worth considering instead.
How do the 2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe and new Cadillac XTS look to you?
