When FIAT took over Chrysler, there were great possibilities for more Italian models to grace showroom floors here. So far, all we’ve seen is the tiny, but fun, FIAT 500 and the super-exclusive Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione.

Promises of more Alfa models have teased those of us in the U.S. for a while now, but all we seem to get are announcements declaring another delay in getting the brand over here.

Could those delays be because Volkswagen wants to buy Alfa? Or is FIAT CEO Sergio Marchionne just fine-tuning the American Alfa offering?

Reports are all over the board.

Cars Coming Soon: Alfa Romeo 4C Heading to U.S. Ahead of Schedule

When the Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione hit the U.S. (in extremely limited numbers), there was hope that the long-lost Italian brand would finally ride valiantly back into the American mainstream with a long list of fun and sporty automobiles.

That hasn’t happened. In fact, the only new Italian we’ve been introduced to lately is the FIAT 500.

Get ready to rejoice, though, because the sumptuous and sexy Alfa Romeo 4C appears ready to drive off the boat about six months of ahead of schedule, probably leading the parade in a line of America-bound Alfas.
