How Cadillac Hopes to Catch the Germans

In a rather inconclusive interview with MSN Autos, ATS engineer David Masch was asked, “How long is it going to take for Cadillac to regain brand perception as ‘the standard of the world’”?

He replied it may take a little time to improve “some of the public perception.” That, friends, is the understatement of the year.

Lexus was 30 percent ahead of Caddy in sales last year; BMW and Mercedes more than 60 percent.

With only three active models now, the brand needs more and better offerings and better-looking cars. We’ll show you a few that were on display in New York; you be the judge. Above is the XTS, the company’s new full-size luxo-sedan, which looks good: the proportions are right.

Cars Coming Soon: 2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe, Cadillac XTS Makes Unscheduled Appearance

2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe

At the Detroit Auto Show in January, the all-new 2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe is set to debut, with much fanfare to be sure.

The current Genesis Coupe (terrible name, considering it’s nothing like the Genesis sedan) has been well reviewed and is even considered, in some circles, a keen competitor to the Ford Mustang. From the looks of things, the next version will sport a more menacing look and, probably, better performance.

We get this little foreshadow of things to come courtesy of the Hyundai Blog. While most of the words on that site might be in Korean, lucky for us pictures cross all language barriers.
