The 2016 New York International Auto Show set attendance records over its first weekend, and organizers expect total attendance to exceed 1,000,000 visitors. We were lucky enough to get a sneak peek during press days One and Two. We’ve already shared video impressions of some of our favorite new vehicles, as well as posts on the amazing array of supercars at the show, the Genesis New York concept, the awesome Bandit Edition 7T7 Trans Am, and the custom-made, Chevy Aveo-based ETV. Here’s one more taste of the show, which ends Sunday at 7pm New York time. We urge you to consider getting there while you can, as the show may be the only chance you’ll ever get to see some of these cars.

Staying Power: 2015s with Shelf Life
To most people, spring means longer days, sunny skies, and flowers in bloom. For us, however, spring also means great deals on outgoing model-year vehicles. While some cars, like the Honda Civic and Mitsubishi Outlander, received enormous changes between the 2015 and 2016 model years, others enjoyed more modest enhancements or were complete holdovers from the year before. It’s these cars — the unchanged models — that we want to find.

“The thing about money is… you can always make more.”
Or so a good friend once told us, while detailing his extensive traveling. And although it’s a lovely, freeing sentiment, most of us are more comfortable living within our finances and the limitations they impose. Of course, with tax day creeping around the corner, many of us are anticipating a nice refund, and feeling a little flush. If there was ever a time of year when we’re inclined to peruse the new car listings on CarGurus, searching for our dream ride, it’s now. Whether you’re enticed by a drop-top sports car, a luxurious full-size sedan, or a tough-as-nails off-roader, you’ll find yourself well taken care of by today’s auto market.
Buick’s Terrific Trifecta: Avista, Cascada, and Envision
In 2008 I thought Buick should be sent to the chopping block. Its vehicles were aged, staid, not exciting, and overly bland for the tastes of most young Americans.
Yet instead of discontinuing the Buick brand, GM thought it would be more beneficial to send Pontiac packing. Pontiac was just beginning to get its chops back thanks to the beautifully crafted G8 GXP, but it died at the hands of a bankrupt GM that desperately needed to reorganize.
And reorganize it did. Here we are in 2016 and Buick is not only still here, it’s becoming a real player in the affordable luxury market.
This year we have three Buicks in particular to thank for that, though only two will likely be available for purchase.
Mercedes-Benz’s Turnaround Looks a Lot Like Audi’s
There’s a German automaker in the midst of a turnaround. The company has redesigned many of its vehicles and has plans to introduce additional models, including sedans, crossovers, and SUVs.
The brand is also forging ahead with plans for dedicated electric vehicles and cars with advanced autonomous driving technology.
The front-end design has evolved over the years into a signature look that the automaker hopes to expand into new models, while continuing to push design limits in future concept vehicles.
The automaker has also sworn off trends such as convertible SUVs and 2-door SUVs in favor of more traditional sedans, SUVs, and crossovers.
We’re talking about the new face of Mercedes-Benz.
But could the German car giant be gunning for some of Audi’s success?
